Lest you think that the yearly flu isn’t a serious matter, the “Spanish flu” outbreak of 1918 killed 675,000 Americans — about six times the number of U.S. soldiers who died in World War I (though this was a pretty unique pandemic).

However, according to the CDC, anywhere from 3,000 to 49,000 people die each year from the seasonal flu. So get vaccinated!
