Last year, Nikon held a contest for scientists, researchers, and the lay public alike to produce the best movies of the smallest things that we can see. The winners have produced the amazing videos that you see below:

1st Place: This video was the first time Oxford-based pathologist Anna Franz used this technique for injecting ink into a chick embryo

Honorable Mention:

3rd Place: Dr. Ralf Wagner, a chemist in Germany, captured this video of a Daphnia, or water flea, playing with a volvox, a type of green algae.
