There are over 30 different types of seizures, which are categorized as either focal or generalized seizures.

Focal seizures occur in just one part of the brain resulting in repetitious symptoms like twitching, blinking, or experiencing sudden unexplainable emotions or senses like taste, all while conscious.

Generalized seizures occur on both sides of the brain and have symptoms like loss of consciousness accompanied by massive muscle spasms.

Remember, the best thing to do for someone having a seizure is to protect their head and let the seizure take its course. NEVER put something in their mouth (leads to injury and it is impossible to swallow your tongue).
