With beautiful editing, a great score, and the unending enthusiasm of astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, it is almost impossible to ignore this plea for the reconstitution of our space program:
“How much would you pay for the universe?”
And if you were in any doubt that Neil is the new Carl Sagan, watch this video about Neil’s most astounding fact about the universe and try not to tear up:
*Goes to grab the tissue box*
I could not better sum up how a scientific worldview enriches your life. On the grandest scales, against the backdrop of the vast cosmic vista laid out all around us, every single thing on this planet can be traced back to the universe itself. As Carl would say “we are a way for the cosmos to know itself.”
Excellent videos, brilliant man. He is a fitting successor to Carl Sagan!
A truly great communicator.

thats a great video, haven’t heard about this guy until Izaakmak mentioned him and now I can truly say I’m in awe of him, definitely a worthy successor to Carl.
And I am SO jealous that Kyle posted these before I did. Of course, I’m STILL going to use them in my upcoming induction of Tyson into My Heroes “hall of fame!” :D
